Window will not roll up

Window will not roll up
When I rolled down the drivers side window today, on my 2004 Ford F150, I heard a loud clunk, and now it won't roll back up. The motor works because I can hear it moving when I push the switch. Anybody have any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it? I am looking at the Haynes repair manual and guessing it has to do with the track mounting fasteners. Anybody else had this problem?

Hhnnmm... I'm guessing your window and the mounting portion to the reg. has come undone.
Its really easy to get to the windows (pwr or manual) and remove and attach the glass and maintain regulator and track parts in these trucks. I probably get into my door every 2-3 months to check motor functions and other things.
The glass should be attached by a few sandwich type clamps that tighten around the lower part of the window. It may have separated here.
Iirc, it should be a 6 or 8mm stud sticking through with a nut facing the servicable entry points (Two "random" upper holes on the inner door skin) - these holes should line up with the clamps that hold the window in place.
Either way I wouldn't feel too intimidated by the pwr window mechanics in our doors. Dig in... see what you can find (and let us know if you could)...

You were right about the sandwich fasteners and the screws holding them in place. Unfortunately, my regulator was messed up (the wire that pulls the window up and down was wrapped around the pulley the wrong way and broke). I had to put a new regulator in. It wasn't that hard, and saved me $200. Luckily, I have the Haynes repair manual which tells you exactly what to do. The hardest part was snapping the door trim back in place.
