Pulling Codes on an '86 Bronco

Hello all. I am trying to pull codes on my '86 302. I have jumpered the self test terminals together (upper right on the large connector and the single terminal on the single wire pigtail), but the engine light does not flash. The light does come on during the key on bulb test, but it doesn't flash when trying to access the codes. Does anyone have a diagram to make sure the wiring to the dlc is ok? Thanks for any help.

You would have to look in an haynes manual for the wiring diagram. It will also discribe the jumper method for pulling codes on the system as well.

Some times its just easier to get a code reader from the parts store they are only like 20 bucks or so here. they remember the codes they pull and you dont have decipher the flashes.
