AD Injectors

I have a set of AD injectors out of a superduty, well one is an AE (#8 I think). I have few questions about them:

1. Is it benefical to run these in our trucks?
2. Do I need to find another AD to replace the AE?
3. What kind of performance gain would I be looking at?
4. Or would I just be wasting my time and sould just wait til I can get some stage 2's through Jim?

Thanks guys!

P.S. I know that I would have to get my chip reburnt.

You would need to swap in a ECU from a superduty to run the injectors... you'd get more power, not sure how much

that's all i know...

If your 97 is a cali you can toss them in.
You will make some power with them in the bottom
and mid range. You could suffer on the top with tunes
from an over taxed HPOP.

It is not a cali truck but if I have my TW chip tuned for them I thhink it would be fine. I also have a 17* pump which is what pushes them stoke so that should be fine too. Do you see any other issues and do I need to replace the AE injector?

Get rid of the AE for sure. 17* pump will run them fine, but can still fall flat up top with tunes.

As long as the AD are free and you have a 17degree HPOP your good. have tony burn your chip for them and your good to go. Thats what I am running.

They are but I will have to buy an AD to replace the AE. Did you replace the AE? How do you like yours?

I don't know if you would have to get rid of the AE or not. AFAIK the only difference between AD and AE is the solenoid pack. Which, I think, keeps it open just a bit longer.

Mine ran 144,000 miles with a stock AE and never gave me any problems.

Why?
The only difference between them is that the Intensifier Piston is about .004" shorter on the AE, equal to about 3 cc more, not a big deal unless you're really picky about having your injectors flow matched.
I have seen sets of Pistons off by as much as .008" from longest to shortest in a set of 8 injectors, so I really don't see how that little bit would affect you.
I'm sure it does, but that small amount, IMO isn't worth worrying about. Throw it in and forget about it...

I would say they complain more about the reason for the injector being in there than the injector itself

X2

Deadheaded Fuel was a big mistake.

Tj
I have installed AE's as sets of 8.
I must have it mixed up with just cyl #8.
