08 mirrors on 02 super duty

i have been reading alot in the forum about installing 08 power telliscopeing, power folding, heated with turn signal & marker lighted mirrors on my 02 superduty which consequently none of these options were available on my model. (because i got a sweet deal on a pair of these exact mirrors.) which leads me to my question does anyone have a good part # or source for the plug on the door side wiring harness for these mirrors ? with it being the same from late 03 to present i didn't think it would be so hard to find from a salvage yard, but boy was i wrong!

I'd like to know too...I really want to do that mod on my 05. What did you spend on them? What's a fair price?

i got te pair of them for $600 of ebay & they came in the ford boxes ! you should have the new style plug on your 05 it is a flat rectangle looking plug. the mirror side plug has 2 rows with 11 holes in each row although not all of them are used.

I talked to ED at FTEpartsguy and the kit is the mirrors and a set of instructions he got from a post on here. I got a better price for my mirrors from Kenny at Millenium Ford(Y2K ford) another sponsor on here. I just bought two 8 wire multi-pin plugs and am wiring through them, removing the factory 22 pin plug from the mirror. Plan on starting it tomorrow and finishing Sunday(coaching a wrestling meet Sat.)

As much as I love my truck...it's a REALLY friggin' base model XLT. Power mirrors I have, power seats, but cloth and nothing else. 2005 Crew Cab Short Box.

Wires, "Tinning Wires", crimping, soldering, and anything related to wires causes involuntary convulsions in me.

Should have said...just the power mirrors with no turn signals, no heat and not telescoping.

i just about spit ice tea all over the screen over your involuntary convulsions statement. there is no easy answer to your question with out looking at the plug that goes to your mirror. because it could be wired for everything but power fold & power telescoping or just as easily not. should't be that hard to tell if you pull the triangle trime piece i beleave the wiring harness is right there. if it's only wired for power glass you will probably only have 3 wires going to the plug of your mirror. if it is wired for heat, turn & marker light there should be 6 or 7 wire's to the plug.

I appreciate the tip! I'll check it out in the morning...if the snow stops!

I'm loving this site. I used to belong to ih8mud.com when I had my FJ60 and FJ40. Those guys were as helpful and as involed as the guys on FTE seem to be. Glad to be a part of a new and good forum.

If your new mirrors are heat, turn, marker, and power glass you will have 7 wires, if they are power fold and extend I can only guess there are 9 wires but that is only a SWAG.
