96 4WD 4.9 F150 to V8?

How big of a deal would it be to put a V8 in the 96 F150 4.9L 300 I'm looking at getting? I've got a chevy 305 carbed sitting around and was considering putting that in with a 4wd chevy transmission. I know it'd be alot of work, have to make custom mounts and driveshafts, what else? I may as well keep the 6 but the V8 swap is still in my mind.

um isnt there some kind of LAW in place, NO chevy motors in FORD vehciles. It just seems to go against every concievable notion of owning a ford. But to truthfully answer your question, it will more than likely be alot more work. I would suggest selling the 305, and buy a 351 or similar ford engine. I belive they came with the 5.0 too. That would make your life ALOT easier than tryin to swap in a chevy v-8. Selling the chevy motor and buying a ford motor will make things MUCH easier espically in the long run. Consider re-sell, how many people want a chevy powered ford? I know i sure dont. If you sell the 305 and the I6, you would probably have enough green for a donor truck, making your life MUCH easier.

By the way i dont mean to be offensive.
just my 2 cents worth

Yea I don't think I will do this.. just was curious to see how much work it'd be. I think we're gunna drop the 305 in my buddys jeep.

do not put that chevy motor in there, first off ill slap u if i ever see you for doin it, second itd be way to much work, and as for turboing the 300, it depends what your plans are for the truck, the 300 I6 is a damn good motor but if your application is gunna need a v8 look for a 302 or 351 as they came in these trucks anyways i believe
