How do I get my 4.9 L F-150 to sound like a throaty v-8.

cant really get a 300 to sound like a v-8, but i came close. i no 2nd cat, 2.5" pipe into a flowmaster delta flow 40 series. v-8 umble at idle and nasty growl when ya stomp it. i need to get some soundclips....seebeew how do i record sound clips? and will u host them if i get em?

There are many ways to record your sound clips. I have had people go through some crazy stuff just to get there clip to me. Here are some ways.

Park a laptop under the tailpipe.
Use a mic w/ a really long cable connected to your pc.
Use an analog tape/cassette recorder then transfer it over to your pc using sound recorder.
Use a digital recorder.
Use a camcorder and then transfer it over to your pc using sound recorder.
Park your truck outside your window that your computer is in.

I have had people use all of the above methods. Some produce quality recordings while others not so quality. But whatever you can get is appreciated. Any clip is better than none.... Also, I will host whatever clips you send me.

I put a Flowmaster 40 series on my 96 4.9. It make my truck a little louder but I think I would go with no muffler at all if I was to do it again. I haven't noticed any performance or milege gain.

 

did u remove the 2nd cat? or use 2.5" pipe? that really makes em come alive.
