300 6 red line
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Jan-03 AT 11:09 AM (EST)]A friend's 87 F-250 with a 300 has a redline on the tach at 5700 or 5800, I can't remember. But Ford may have used the same tach on all gas engines, I don't know. And the later (and earlier) tachs don't show a redline. But I don't know why would anyone ever need to take a stock 300 that high anyway.

300 6 red line
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Jan-03 AT 11:39 PM (EST)]I never run my engine over 4500 rpm. With my new mods it pulls hard all the way there and it seems to be right back in a good spot in the power band after a WOT shift at 4500 rpm. In the past I have run it as high as 5500 or 5800 two or three times but one of those was by accident and the other two I was showin off for a girl. LOL! It makes zilch power up there just a lot of noise.

My motor sounds like its crying for help past 4 grand. Thats why I don't want to take it there. I might take it up to 4 when climbing hills just to pick-up the most speed. But then I put it back into fourth and it slows right down again, your dammed if you do, dammed if you don't
