I need some expert opinion. I'm needing to change the shock absorbers on my Daughters 2000 MM. It has the V8 with the air adjustable suspension. I've been quoted as high as $265 ea. for the front shocks, and $160 ea. for the rear shocks.
What is the difference between the standard shocks, and the air adjustable? I've looked at the front shocks, and they don't appear to be any different from any other standard shock. The truck is new to her, and so I don't know if they've been previously replaced. The rears shocks do have an air connection going to them.
Is there any real advantage going with the OEM type shock absorbers, or should I just get the after market shocks? Is there any after market shocks that would perform the same as the OEM shocks? Is it important to change the fifth shock also?
