So far ... so good I guess.

Hi guys,
Haven't been on here for a while.
Have had the 2008 CC LB w/V10 since late August and have about 700 miles on it so far. Computer says I am getting 9 MPG ...and I haven't had it on the road yet .. just city driving and running AC all the time.

Only problem found was upon delivery the paint (I ordered 2 tone Dark Blue w/silver belly) under both the drivers door and the front passengers door up underneath (you really had to get down to see it) looked like their auto sprayer at the factory missed a strip about the witdh of your thumb and it ran about halfway back. They took digital pics and sent to Ford and they authorized them to have it painted.
I made an appointment, took it to their body shop on a Monday (I figured it would probably take a half day) and thats where it sat all week until Friday morning ... then they took it in and painted it ... they had to take off the running boards to do it right.
Three days later I was under the truck bolting on some Boss bed rails and noticed they only put back 1 bolt per running board mount !!! WTF!!!
They should have FOUR per mount! I checked three other new trucks on the lot ... they all had four per mount.
I went right over there and demanded they put back the rest of the bolts .... which they did. And they apologized and blamed it on a Mexican worker.

Now tonight, my wife and I were out and she went to lower her window ... the window goes down and BANG ... I thought someone had thrown a brick at the door or something ... then she could not raise the window ... I then thought the window must have shattered down in the door.
So I tried to raise the window from my controls and IT RAISED!
Then she tried again and it lowered and rasied OK. So we left it up.
BUT ... I slapped on the outside of her door and there is definitely something rattling in there. You can also hear it when you close the door.

So I am wondering what could have came loose that would make that loud of a noise, and why .... and I wonder how long they will keep it this time?

Has anybody else had any window problems? I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Thanks for letting me vent guys ...

Kirk

Kirk

That too is a warranty issue...just take it in to have the techs remove the inner door pannel and repair the window tracks.... probably a missing or loose bolt

Sorry to hear about your initial problems....fortunatly your experiances are rare but a serious issue for you...get her sorted out so you and the missus can enjoy the beast

Regulator

They ended up replacing the window regulator.
Only took them all week to replace it.
Got it back though so all is well again.

Kirk,
It seems strange that your dealer is keeping your truck for a week at a time. Is there another dealer within reasonable driving distance that you can try? Is the dealer paying for a loaner or giving you a replacement vehicle while your vehicle is at the shop? If not, ask for one. If they are paying for a loaner, they may be more motivated to get you in and out faster. Don't get frustrated with your new purchase. As Fred mentioned, you've got one heck of a truck. Get those warranty issues worked out and you are going to love your new toy.
