power window problem

power window problem

I am having a problem with my power window. It started making a light grinding sound and worked for a while. It failed today. The peculiar thing is that I parked the truck with the window up. Later that evening the window had dropped down on its own. Any thoughts?

Does anyone have any tips on removing the door panel? I have it all removed except it is stuck right in the area of the door lever.

Does anyone have any Idea what might be wrong?

Theres bolts behind the handle and in the panel in that area

Sounds like the the regulator once you get the door panel off look for a broken cable in there.

Thanks for your input.I broke down and bought a repair manual on Saturday morning and completed the repair. I went ahead and replaced the window regulator with the factory replacement (I have heard horror stories about aftermarket window regulators). I am good to go for another 5 or 6 years.
