A class III should be fine, but you can get a Class IV and V that will be stronger.
Me, personally, I like the bigger hitches because they use more surface area of the frame to mount to, they are thicker, and they use more/thicker bolts. This is good for me because I do a lot of fourwheeling, and Im often yanking someone out of a mudhole...or getting yanked out. Hahaha...

Class IV - 8,000lbs/12,000lbs weight dist.
Class V - 15,000lbs/17,000lbs weight dist.
