Question Proper hitch setup

Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2001 SCREW 4X4, I want to tow my travel trailer with it, and haul the kids comfortably. I have to set up the WD hitch for the truck, I had the hitch set up for pulling with my GMC van. The van was maxxed out towing the trailer, this is why I bought the truck. The truck has a ton more towing capacity.
My question is how can I tell if the fuses needed to a brake controller are installed?
If they are not what size fuse or fuses are needed?
Has anybody set up the a WD hitch on a four wheel drive, I think I am going to have to flip the hitch bar or buy a new one, the height difference between the van and truck is the problem.
Does anybody have experience with this?

Proper hitch setup

But a longer shank for the WDH so that it will drop enough to be towing level. You can buy the shank seperately without replacing the whole hitch.
