Try Some Wd-40 In Both Latches And Slam The Doors Shut A Few Times To See If That Helps. The Door Ajar Switches Are In The Latches And They Tend To Get Dry And Stick At Times.

Change the door switch. You have to get inside the door where it's located near the latch.

This is a very common problem with the newer Fords. Keep replacement switches handy...

I am having the same problem with the fifes 97 Taurus. I would be interested to know a good fix too. Mine is a little more intermitint. If I hit the door at the handle with a DEAD BLOW hammer on the latch it usually fix's it.

Replace the switch. Some people have good luck with the wd40 trick, and some don't.

I am having a similar problem on my 03 f250 powerstroke. The door ajar light stays on ALL THE TIME. And the dome light and cargo light never come on when I open any of the doors, but I can turn them on with the overhead switch so I know that the fuse isn't blown. Will the wd-40 solve this problem as well or do I need a new switch, or do I have a different problem all together?

I would say you have the same problem. Are you sure the lights you are turning on manually are the same as the domelights? If they are the maplights, they are on a different circuit.

WD40 is danged cheap to try...soak the affected door latch (not the frame latch) and open/close the door a number of times. If that doesn't fix it, resoak with WD40 and let it soak in for a few days - most times it'll all of a sudden "fix" itself. While you are waiting for this to fix itself, soak all the other door latches.

The wd40 still hasn't kicked in so I guess I am going to have to replace the switch. But I also checked my manual for the location of the dome light fuse just in case. I couldn't find "dome lights" or "interior lights" anywhere in the listing of the fuse locations. Can anyone tell me what the number is for the location of the dome lights fuse in the fuse panel? It is an 03 F250 7.3 Powerstroke.
