has rebuilt 2 bl carter - idles and revs fine - on the road if i ease it on accelaration it will climb slowly to hwy speed - if i punch it, the carb will choke itself out and pop. what's the best solution or trouble check? thanks

Sounds like your accelerator pump is not working properly. Also check the timing. It may need to be advanced. And verify that the vacuum advance is working.
