65 f100 vibration at hiway speeds

I have a 1965 F100 that is my daily driver. I notice an intermittent vibration at 55 - 60 mph. I feel the vibration in the floor and gas pedal. I have new wheel bearings all around, and I just replaced the u joints. The question I have is about the slip yoke on the driveline. Mine has a little bit of slop. Could this be causing the vibration? Is this a junk yard replacement item, or can you order a new part from some place?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

thnx

You could have a loose u-joint it can cause this. So double check the torque on the nuts and grease them again until you purge all the air out of them. The slip yoke is obtainable new or used so that is you choice if the u-joint nuts are still tight. Also take a look at the driveshaft for dents. It may or may not cause it as well.

Check the driveshaft center support also.

It's possible you may be looking in the totally wrong place.
If it's a vibration you feel through the chassis and not necessarily through the steering wheel, it may be driveline related, yes.
However, I generally find that speed induced vibrations usually come from the wheels. Try moving the wheels around and see if it changes at all. Tires will do all sorts of stupid things: break a belt, develop a flat spot or cup, etc. Maybe a wheel got bent or tossed a weight. Maybe you've got a shock that's gone soft, allowing the wheel to 'hop' and not stay planted as you drive (I spot these often on the highway). Check all of these things if you find nothing in the driveshaft giving you grief.

Have your wheels balanced and checked it could be a bad tire.

It's tough to find high quality center-bearings for this vintage? But figure a new bearing is better than a worn 40 year rubber-surround original, it can't hurt anything to replace it, if I had to do it over with ole blue, I would have checked/repack or, replace the rear axle bearings, front axle bearings, and the center bearing and u-joints all at once, balancing driveshaft etc &c &c, Much quieter and less vibration. I replaced the shocks and tires at Sears and had the alignment checked. The tech just kind of laughed going through it, because there isn't much adjustment.

Another thing to check. Make sure that the front and rear drive lines are setup properly. If you get the center splines off a couple of teeth this can cause the problem also. Make sure the yokes are lined up properly or in phase. The U bolts on the rearend and the transmission should be on the same plane and square with each other.
