Describe the problem here: i noticed it last night as i was on my way into work. normaly the clutch works in the upper most region of its travel, now its almost at the bottom that its starting to grab
if 10 is with your foot off the pedel and 0 in on the floor with it it used to start to grab about 4-5 and fully holding at abouy 6 and 9 trough 10 was dead space, now its starting to grab between 1 and 2 and fully holding by 3-4 with the rest being dead space
its not noticably sliping, there is no stutter aside from a funny bounce it had/has when realeasing the peded closest i can describe it is like the clutch sliped for a split second and gave the trucka little bouncey jerk the faster the cutch was let out the worse, nice and easy and it was not there
So far, what have you done? posted here.
what can i check? what to look for?
Oh and what size is it? when i went to price one they have a 10" and 11"
i plan to replace the hole deal and have the fly turned so could a 11" be used in place of a 10" if i have the smaller one?
Thanks guys,
Joe

Reason: clean up post some
I'm probably not going to be much help but did you do anything out of the usual just before this happened?? Drag racing?? Off roading??? Bang into something??
Usually when a hydraulic clutch is first put in, the pedal is close to the floor when it engages and gradually works higher and higher until it quits engaging at all at the top of the swing. For the engagement point to drop suddenly would indicate to me that something broke inside and is taking up some of the space that would normally be open between the clutch and pressure plate.
It sounds to me like a hydraulic problem. I would try bleeding the clutch before anything else. Usually when the clutch is shot it doesn't engage until the pedal is real high. When there's a problem in the hydraulics sometimes the clutch will engage with the pedal real low.
It is real easy to bleed the hydrolics, but you have to do it from the slave cylender. Normally this is unnessary unless you have replaced the cluch, or have a leek in the hydrolic lines somewhere. the resavore for the cluch is going to be on the firewall (moter side under the hood. drivers side and to the left of the brake booster valve. it should be round plastic and somewhat clear so you can visually see the fluid leval inside.) If it is empty, fill and press the cluch peddal till you dont see air comeout of it anymore. Then from under the truck you have to open the access port on the cluch housing. it is usualy a rectanguler rubber plug looking thing. with a light you will be able to look inside and see a bleeder valve that looks like what you would expect to see on your breaks if you were doing the same to them. With the cap off of the resavore you want to loosen the bleeder valve untill you see fluid start to drain out. If you pump the peddle only a couple of times, you should get all the air out of the slave cylinder. make shure that the resavore never runs dry the entire time you are doing this. I hope this helps
