Engine Stalls when Idling and a little white smoke from near exhaust manifold shield?
Just wondering if any one had some ideas as to what might be going on, I just bought a 2000 ford focus to save on gas and milage on my Ranger. The car starts up good, but it stalls out shortly after it begins to idle unless I give it gas, with gas it continues to run, but when I let off the gas and it starts to idle, it dies. It also has some white smoke coming out from underneath the exhaust manifold heat shield. The car holds its fluids as far as I can tell, and the smoke doesn't seem or smell to be burning coolant. Any advice anyone could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks.
- there seems to be a hissing noise towards the back left behind the engine. Thanks.

Hmmm, maybe try GA here on FTE or some fuokus forum? This is a Ranger specific forum (well, 99.9999% of the time, things here went down the drain last month and it's very clear they won't be back anytime soon )

First things first, smoke and hissing are not normal and sound like an leak of some sort. Could be the exhaust, find that first. Pull the trouble codes and see what that say, one of the part stores will do it free. That should start you down the road. Also search for a focus fourm as they will have more ideas about you car
