300 inline, automatic, cube van
does anyone know if ford made cube van's with the 300, auto? i have decided this is what i want to use in my 41 ford, 1 ton, stakebed and have a need for a cube van box for parts storage.
al_41stakebed, welcome to FTE, hopefully you'll find the info you need on this site.
If you haven't tried, ask the guys over in the Inline Six fourm, somebody there probably has some figures to let you know if Ford built any of these chassis with the 300. I would think Ford may have built some with the 300. It's a good motor that was a great commercial engine.

al, I have several 300 powered hot rods. They are a great engine. Ford built fleets of 300 powered UPS delivery vans and I am almost certain the 300 was available in cube vans. But don't limit your search for one of these engine / trans combos to cube vans as all 300s are rugged and essentially the same. EFI engines had some head differences but I presume you are not looking o use EFI. Good luck

there will be a block number next to the starter run it by ford they will tell you what year van also 74 and later was 300's late sixtys earliy 70s was 200 250 240 or 300 200 or250 are there own engine the 240 and 300 was the same they shared bell housings with the 289 302 351w 351c
300 is your best bottom end torque fuel injection was the best thing for them clifford manifolds makes a great 4 barrel manifold for it with a 390 cfm holley tey were quick and torquy engines but a 302 351 is cheaper to build

thanks for the tip. we removed the van body and should be able to get to all numbers. it is a 300, fuel injection and it ran pretty good for 200k mileage. the '41 ford stakebed cab has been lengthen 6", in the doors and we are thinking of maybe going wider with the cab and fenders to make things proportional.
