hubs wont turn

hubs wont turn
I have a 02 4x4 7.3 and my auto hubs are stuck in the auto position. I have tried turning them with pliers to lock with no luck. Is this a common problem, do I need to get new hubs? Thanks for the help.

I have an 01 4x4 7.3 my drivers side was hard to turn. So hard it hurt my fingers to turn it by hand but I was afraid of breaking the plastic using pliers. Oopps there that plastic again on a truck. So when my bearings went out I took my hub apart, as far as it comes apart and sprayed it down with brake cleaner and then sprayed it down with oil. It seemed to help but still isn't as easy as the right side. With mine though the problem is in the hub itself, just doesn't have a smooth turn.

I had the same problem with my drivers side hub... Stuck and would not turn...
So i took the wheel off and sprayed WD-40 in and around the hub area... NOW it turns just fine! The dealer told me that if you dont use your hubs alot they can get stuck like that.
