Insrument cluster swap
1997 F-350, 4x4, cc,351, E4OD. I would like to swap my original instrument cluster with one that has a tach. I know that wiring exist for running a tach on my truck. Question is how far back in years can I go on getting an instrument cluster that will work for my truck? Thanks in advance for all the help, aloha.

I'm surprised nobody chimed in yet...
As per car-part.com, 96 and 97 will work. Gasser only.
Makes sense since OBD2 came in 96.
You can swap your odo over to the tach cluster quite easily. I did it with my Ranger tach cluster swap and our clusters use a lot of the same stuff.
