1990 Expedition: Remote KeyLock Transmitter Acting Goofy or Is It Receiver?

Strange things are happening with remote locks. It seems my transmitters are sending a constant signal to lock my doors (or something). The truck beeps when I walk by it and the doors lock. Sometimes they lock and unlock. It looks as if I could even lock my keys in it!

I've replaced the batteries, and have reprogramed both of my remotes and I still have the problem.

I did "solve" it temporarily by takig out the batteries in the remote.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you tried one transmitter at a time to see if its just one?

Our oldest daughter's Sable did this after her sister spilled orange juice on the remote, caused either the switch buttons to physically stick or short out the contacts inside the remote, I never figured out which. Like Homer suggests, I'd see if it is just one, and try to clean the buttons and switch contacts to see if that helps

Sorry about year mix-up. It is 1998, Expedition.

I did try both of the transmitters, but I come to think of it, they were both near the car, so the one could have been affecting the other.

Something else to try tomorrow...
