Remote Transmitter Battery Change?????

I was going to put a new battery in my transmitter and was wondering if the programming will be lost?? Will I have to reprogram my transmitter, or will it store it?

I believe the transmitter will be fine, you program the truck to the remote.

Yep! The transmitter has only one code in it and it is hard coded.

You can safely replace the battery and it will work every time. Go for it!

FYI: if you ever do have to program one it is really easy to do. You can actually re-program any pre-programed fob so it makes it easy to get spares off ebay and such.

Just get in your rig, click the key foward to the ignition position 6 times and the door locks should activate. Push the lock button on your existing fob and then push the lock button on you new fob. This also works if you lost your only fob and bought a replacement. Your vehicle will actually program the fob to work. Kind of a handy little feature...

The Hog,

Great FYI, but for others be aware that not all models use same procedure. The 99 and up, you have to turn the switch on and off eight times instead of 5 or 6. Easy solution, turn the switch on and off until the doors lock and unlock.
