Hello Guys,
I have a 97 E350 and a couple days ago the headlights stopped working.
I had a similar problem with my 94 Sable that turned out to be a melted light switch. I checked the fuse on the E350 and it is fine. I replaced the headlight switch but I still have no headlights. I have running lights and can get the headlights on by pulling back on dimmer/turn signal handle but still no headlights.
any suggestions? Thanks
I would pull the multifunction switch and check it and its connector for melting. The headlamps go through the multifunction switch. High beam is working with flash to pass so unless you have two burned out bulbs I would start there.
That was the first thing I checked when it happened to the Sable and for some reason I never looked at it when it happened to the E350. Sure enough there is discoloration at the plug in for the multi switch. I had one from the Sable and the plugs match so I threw it in. Headlights are back on but now my left turn signal flashes faster than normal. Is this something that could have caused the switch to fail? What should I check for?
