Opinions welcome on next mod

I am thinking of adding a performace ignition system to my '99 as my next mod. I've just begun reasearching and reading about the subject but thought I would post this to see if anyone has an opinion.

For what purpose, if you don't mind answering? The new ignitions since 95' or so are excellent and put out more than sufficient voltage.

I have to agree with High Horse. I read that the Expy's ignitions are one of the most efficient designs ever (when all the cops are working properly).

I'm not sure I'm even going this route, l'm just throwing it out there for opinions. I once asked my mechanic (who races and who I trust) about those 4 prong spark plugs, not for my Expy but for the Jeep I once owned. He told me that unless you install a performance ignition those plugs are no better then single plugs. I figured that a performance ignition system might be something that would give me more power. Just a thought.

I agree with your mechanic, I tried those Bosch +4 plugs in my 99 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0l straight-six. It ran horribly, pinged and lost power. I switched to some cheap Champion Truck plugs, and it was back to running like new. Unless the ignition system is designed for multi-electrode plugs (i.e. -Camry 4-bangers require a two-electrode plug), I would stick with what the manufacturer recommends.
