Question 6.4 what mod next?

I tuned my 6.4 with spartan earlier in the yr. installed 4" delete pipe only. Love response, totally different truck. What would you all recommend as my next mod? Still pretty much stock other than wheels, bed cover, bull bar, off road lights and billet grille. Was thinking of egr delete as next mod, any suggestions?

Completely Remove both EGR coolers so your not dumping Soot down yôur engines throat.

Plus a Lot Less heat under the hood & no chance of either cooler puking coolant "IF" it Fails.

I will probably go with the egr delete. But will probably wait till after vacation next month. I just preordered d passport max so there goes 6 bills. So I will have to build up toy fund first before delete.

In order to do an EGR delete, do you have to physically remove the EGR and tune it, simply unplug it and tune it, or will the tuner just shut it down? I have a Superchips Racing tuner that I've used to delete the DPF but haven't gone with the EGR yet because I am still under warranty with a new motor. Once the warranty is up, I'll remove the EGR cooler.

Thanks in advance,

This could be good news or bad news depending on your perspective: your power train warranty is already technically void. Now whether or not you'll be denied a claim is completely a coin toss and partially dependent on your dealer and if a Ford engineer gets involved with your claim.

You'll need a tune that supports EGR delete and a delete kit with block off plates.

The 6.4 doesn't have EGR issues like the 6.0 did. Plus, you have a Spartan tuner. There are a number of the tunes that disable the EGR system. The 210 tow tune (maybe others) disables the EGR 99% of the time, but will cycle it open sometimes when at idle to insure it doesn't get stuck in the shut position. This is so you don't end up screwed in case you decide to stick things back to stock.

If you aren't having EGR issues now I wouldn't waste the money on a delete kit.

Not having issues. Just thought removing it would eliminate an item which could cause a catastrophic failure in the future.

Im glad you posted that. I read a ton today on egr deleting, and couldnt decide if I wanted to buy a egr delete kit or not. Im not having problems, and I think Im going to keep it intact and rely on the Spartan to do its thing.

I have have zero EGR issues. Proper coolant maintance and ensuring the cool does not get low will help the coolers to survive.
