Front Windshield Wiper Problem

Hi, I need some help. I have a 1996 Explorer where the front wipers only work on the high setting. The intermittant settings don't work at all.

I've checked all the fuses and everything is okay. I don't suspect the wiper motor because the wipers still work on the high setting.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so can you pass on what the fix is or experiences in tracking down what the problem is.

Sounds like a bad multi-function switch to me. Try swapping it out and see what you get.

Front Windshield Wiper Problem

Hello Paul;

Our '96 Limited Explorer is suffering exactly the same winshield wiper symptoms you described in your message. Was the multi-function switch the culprit? If so, did you change it yourself? Do you have a step by step for that process? If it wasn't the multi function, could you please advise as to what the problem turned out to be?
