New rearends

Would like suggestions on the best fullsize axles to use on an 89 B2 with a Transplanted 5.0 out of an 94 mustang gt. I would like them to be about 6inches wider than stock for a little more stability and the ability to fit bigger tires a lot easier, I'm planning on putting at least 37's on it, and I plan on beating the heck out of it. Are there any good axles for this or, would I be better off having a heavy duty axle shortened to the desired length???

Exactly, I mean if your really going to beat it of course shortened D60's would be ideal, of course we are talking about a straight axle conversion and a few $$$..

If you want to go a little less extreme, you could put a Dana 44 up front with a 9" or Explorer 8.8 disc in the Rear.. Again the Dana 44 would mean a straight axle conversion..

The 3rd option would not entail a straight axle conversion, and by that I mean you could get a Dana 35 from an Explorer or Ranger and it would bolt right in for the front, and then go 8.8 or 9" in the rear..

In the End though, I would go straight axle 44 and a 9" in the rear at the very LEAST to hold up the the V8 power and big tires you plan on running..
