I have a lot of wiring going to the battery terminals and is getting to look real ugly! I want to do a power distribution block for the power and another for the ground side. Most important question, can I run the alternator charge wire into the pdb or should I keep it ran to the battery?
my list of crap going to positive battery currently…
-starter relay wire (4ga)
-alternator wire (4ga)
-power wire for sound system (4ga)
-power wire for electric fan relays (8ga)
-power wire for msd box capacitor (12ga I think)
Battery ground side…
-The factory ground to frame/block (4ga)
-ground to back of alternator (4ga)
-ground for msd capacitor (12ga
-factory ground for ecm (one that goes to core support (12ga)
It’s an ugly hot mess! I’m looking at ANL style fuse links on the blocks. Most likely 0 gauge input from battery terminals.
Anyone have any other ideas, I’m all ears unless it’s “put it back to factory”. Pics of setups would be nice!
Yes, you can do that
I wouldn't
The alternator needs a unobstructed path to the battery
Not to say that your junction block will be an obstruction
The solenoid terminals act as a buss bar
That said, go ahead and clean it up
I need to do the same with my 69 Boss 302
I always thought I would be running more accessories and installed some wiring off a 76 Lincoln starter solenoid with feeds for things I am NOT using
