I recently blew my head gasket and being broke and a decent wrench turned on traditional vehicles I tackled it myself. I also did my timing chain since I had a broken bolt in there since I did the water pump a year ago. I also lapped the valves and did stem seals got it all back together and it won't start just popping and sounds like timing is way off
. I checked the firing order and can't get it to start even with starting fluid. A buddy put the timing chain in, is it possible that he could have done something wrong? I don't know what else it can be. I'm perfect and never made a mistake!!! Lol
Do you have a timing light to check where it is firing? Pull the spout to get to base time of 10 deg BTC. My guess is the distributor or crank gear is off, especially if it had several keyway options to advance or retard. If it is close turning distributor while cranking might get you fired.
