So I just finished redoing my head gasket. Everything is hooked back up the way it was prior to the tear down. I'm getting spark, fuel, compression, timing was set correctly according to Haynes, turns over but just doesn't want to fully start up. Has anyone come accross this issue and what was the resolution if so.... I have been stumped since Sun morning.
If you have spark, fuel, compression, and correct timing, nothing should prevent it from starting. I would double check everything especially the timing. Like you, I don't see why it would not start if you have the above mentioned criteria.
I have checked it over hundred times. Can't seem to figure it out. Is there a possibility that the timing looks great but the crank or cam could be a 360 off or something? Being a non interference, I was thinking that something could have spun by mere accident and is ahead or behind some crazy way?? I'm just so lost with the truck.
If it were 360 off it would be in time, it could be 180 off, but if that were the case, it would backfire. I don't understand it. hopefully, someone with more knowledge about this can chime in and help out.
