I agree, Although I think it would have looked better if they carried the white onto the mating contour on the doors like some of the early slicks. Not sure what years they did this from the factory?!?
Certainly I'm more of a purist but a nice truck for sure. The triple whammy would drive me insane tho, wrong grille, front bumper and tailgate. Come to think of it, the fender badges would probably bug the crap out of me too.

I noticed they had a new warranty plate made and it looks good except for two things. The number 99 was never used for BODY code in a 1961 - 1966 as that entry would have indicated seat upholstery color and cab type for 1964-1966 like 581 - red upholstery in a conventional cab with this being a Standard Cab for trim - would have been very common in a J - Rangoon Red painted truck. The engine is also J - 240 which offered 129 net hp at 4000 rpm while the B - 300 code was 150 at 3600 RPM. But, not much of a factor in this case.
I'll make this post at least more worthwhile than a mistake. I believe the extra paint treatment on the inner doors to continue the dash color was 1961-1963 Custom cabs. For 1964-1966 Custom Cabs they changed it to the color-accented plastic door trim panels surrounded by bright-metal moldings.

I'm curious as to what it is about the tailgate that indicates it's not original to the truck. My '66 F250 came with a hideous overweight lift-gate when I got it and I was delighted to find a tailgate from a 1980's Ford truck at the local Pick n Pull. All the body lines seemed to match up. I was surprised to think they kept the same design for all those years.
1964-1966 were similar to each other in the area of the lettering in that they had no 'serifs' which are the parts that extend to the left further on the letter "F" for example.
Carpenters reproduces the 1967-1972(?) tailgate and lists it as going back to 1964 - and it will bolt on, but the lettering on the slightly newer 1967+ tailgates had the serifs. The letter O is the only one that is similar from 1964-1972. The raised area above the handle is also different as well as the racetrack around all of the FORD on the 1967+.
Here's a 1964-1966 lettering style. This font style is often called sans-serif. Sans is French for without.
Ohhhhh Nooooo!!!!, I can't unsee the difference in the two types of tailgates. Now it's gonna bug me somewhat. Sometimes, ignorance IS bliss. The sad part is that the tailgate that was on my '74 F250 is the correct earlier type for my '66, but, it got banged up pretty well as I used that truck as a work truck all these years. The nerd in me always looks for the correct fender emblem between '65 and '66 trucks; also the front grill. Now I have one more tick to cope. I'm NOT going to ask what's the difference in front bumpers between the years... although it's a mute point as I screwed up my perfect '74 bumper as it got caught against a retaining wall while backing down a hill.
