Hi all,
Does anyone have or know someone who I can reach out to, so I can buy an oil filler tube for my 69 E100? It's a 302 and I'm dying to put that doghouse back on. I grabbed one that was sitting in a Gen2 at a pick a part place, but its not the right one.
thanks,
Scott
You will have to make one, a pipe bender at an exhaust shop would be a big help, it runs down, then turns right, the top had a 3/4" pipe to the air cleaner, crankcase filter, these vans are a rare find, the radiator is nonexistant, you do not want a parts store replacement, its too small, you'll find you have to make stuff fit or flat out make it.
Where it curves around to the valve cover. See it by the latch in the middle.
This is all I can find showing the oil filler for mine, I have many photos of it before it was totaled.
This is helpful. I think I might actually have it except for the hoses. I found it inside a gen 2 in a pick-your-part yard, but couldn't figure out how and what to connect it to on the engine. I was thinking it just connected to the passenger side valve cover at the top. I had convinced myself it was the wrong one that someone just threw into the inside of the junk yard van. I really appreciate this. I still can't quite figure out how it inserts to the crankcase but I'm not near my van right now, and when I go there on Sunday, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to figure it out based on your photo and your text.
A million thanks,
Scott
BTW a flex fan draws more air than the 4 blade the factory installed, mine had the same fan found on a Model T, I tried an electric fan, you could hear the oil sizzling after the mountain here melted down the fans internals, just FYI. Took me 10 years to get my hands on the heavy duty radiator custom made by ford for these vans, they are similar to finding a unicorn, I let it go with my wreck when I sold it, there are 2 of these vans listed on facebook, or at least were before I was banned for listing an item against community standards, tho fb ads keep running knives and swords, guess I am punished for competition.
