1961 223 Oil Filler Tube Removal

All,

I'm trying to remove the oil filler tube from the valve cover in my '61 223. Is there some trick to this or does it just twist off?

Thanks.

Do you mean the filler tube cap or the tube itself? I don't believe the tube is removable by itself. I could be wrong but it appears to be pressed in and the flange rolled over.

The tube itself. There is a gasket that goes under the tube and prevents oil from leaking out under it. It needs to be replaced on mine. The rockers are slinging oil onto it and it's seeping out. If it's not removable I'll just run a bead of silicone along the outside.
