As you may be aware, an object from a tornado hit the EX passenger rear door. I finally found a donor door and will have some questions as I prepare the new door and remove the old damaged one.
1) I heard that the pictured door seal at the bottom of the door is a contributor to rust. Is that true or not? Should I keep it on or not? I don't want to add road noise.
2) I need to remove this window and replace it on the donor door. How hard is that? Any details?

Personally, I would keep that rubber seal. Among other things, it prevents splashes up into the door on the rocker. It also reduces road noise, at least a little bit.
OTOH, I'd be interested if you could document this procedure, specially how you manage the wiring loom coming into the door. I bought a replacement door that the PO just cut the wires He sold it with the window, which was a plus for me. But the door panels were already gone. Those should not be an issue to transfer.

Yeah my wires were cut as well. I also have to paint the door jam on the donor door. I am actually glad that I didn't chase down an L2 Metallic True Blue door as the vehicle was resprayed before my time to a custom color.
I would have been pretty upset to hang the door and have it not match.
The lack of info is pretty disappointing overall. No youtube videos for this in 24 years so nothing to go on.
I am not even sure if that bottom seal can be put back on after removal for painting.
Another window seal goes all the way down the track as well and appears to not be removable until the window comes out. I hope I can get it back in.
Anyone know how to get the window out and reinstalled?

Got the window out. 2 nuts and slide the window bracket over on the studs. Carefully bend the metal arms holding them out of the way. There are access points midway. Not as generous of a spot as the larger front doors but not too bad. Use 12 VDC from external power supply to manipulate the window up and down. After window is released push door use power to manipulate tracks downward. All seals removed. Lower seal broke all of it's tabs. I will probably lubricate the old door in advance to see if I can get them to come out any better and swap over. Side trim broke all of it's tabs. Hopefully this stuff is generically available on Amazon. Fortunately my donor door is a rust free specimen from an 05....grey in color so probably the least bleed through of all. Getting the double stick tape off of all of the cladding was an absolute nightmare though. Door seal likely best to reinstall looking down from the top.
Here is a link for the front door which is reasonably the same...
I bought these for the bottom door flaps, they worked well. If you were to order replacement door strips, provided they are still avail, you will find them to be shorter. I experienced this when I ordered new several years ago just to replaced with new.
