Has anyone here done an FE swap into a 78/79 Bronco?
1979 Bronco Custom, Looking for any info I can get. I have a built 390 out of a '67 Fairlane with a front sump pan, my Bronco had a C6 & NP203 full time 4wd T-case. I have an FE C6 to go in. Will there be a problem connecting it to the NP203? Do I require mounts from a 4x4 73-77 F100/F150 that was equipped with a V8? I've heard the 300 might've used the same perches too?
Will stock radiator fit? If anyone has any pictures of this swap whether into a Bronco or 4x4 78/79 F150 that would be super incredibly helpful. I would like to run headers as well. I'm just trying to figure out what all parts I'm gonna need and where things mount.
I swapped a 390 in to replace a 300 in my '79 F150 4x4 more than 20 years ago. No pics to help you with, but I remember using the stock radiator. We had to flip the perches from side to side to change the angle. One side bolted right in, but we had to weld in the other. This had a 4 speed manual, but I don't remember there being any issues using the stock trans and transfer case. We ran the stock exhaust manifolds.
Made that truck a lot of fun. I wish I still had it.
