The C4 auto trans does not have very good down hill engine breaking, even in Low range. Purchased a NP435 mated to a 205 Tcase. Does anyone know the differences in length between the 435-205 setup and the C4-dana 20 setup used in the Early Broncos? The seller claims the 435-205 is from a 78 or 79 F150 or 250.
Know the output yokes are different from the 20. 20 utilizes yokes that allow driveshafts with CV joints to be bolted to them. 78 & 79 Bronco's use the same type of CV equipped driveshafts. Has anyone replaced their 209 in a 78 or 79 Bronco with a 209 from a F250? Is it possible to swap out the output yokes so that the CV joinsted driveshaft will bolt to the replacement 209? Do the 209's come with different spline counts on the output shafts that would prohibit taking yokes from a Bronco and putting them on the 209 from a F250?
