Question How's this for a plan.........

Ok I have a 78 bronco 351m, c6, 3.50 gears, I also have a 77 f150 with a brand new 300-6 4 spd,4x4. Family is in the process of growing so funds are kinda tight and I need more room for hauling my kids, but I need to keep the gas cost down. My question is it worth putting the 300 in my bronco, and if so what all needs to be changed and is it all a straight forward swap? Also if I do this how will it affect my MPG with the 3.50 gearing. Any help or comments would be most helpful.

Considering the down time of both trucks and the minimal gains, if any, I wouldn't bother. Sell both and by a smaller SUV.

Just my $.02's --Mike

just swap everything from one truck to the other including frame towers for the motor mounts.

broncos suck fuel down pretty fast.
Its a 6000lb brick, they actually weigh more than a simular year/optioned F150 4x4.
Right now I'm running 2 300's with 3.50s a 79 F150 2wd and a 69 F100 2wd

the 79 gets 14-16mpg, the 69 gets 20mpg
When I was running a 300 bronco with 3.55s it would get 12-14 in 2wd and 10-12 in 4wd

when you swap, put the 4spd in the bronco. 300's are kinda doggy with an auto, and really shine with a stick.
