I have a 2003 Ford Ranger 3.0 v6 5r44e Trans and its RWD i have replaced almost everything causing a P0741 code
I have Replaced OD,INT,REV/1ST bands and all clutches torque converter and TCC solenoid i looked over the Valve body and put gaskets and cleaned the whole thing i put the check *****/springs/little hole thing as well
it drives good until highway or flat surface pushing past 40 only flashes OD light no check engine light
Could it be my pcm?? i wiggled it a little then i drove it then it started working till it got bumpy on the highway and stopped working after a bit maybe just coincidence that it happened? i also checked for pinched wires near the trans didnt rlly see anything bad didnt check near the exhaust or pcm is there anything else i should try or do????
P0741 doesn't indicate a problem with overdrive. It shows a problem with the torque converter lockup clutch, meaning the computer detects excessive slippage because the clutch isn't locking at highway speeds. Common causes include low fluid, a faulty TCC solenoid, or internal transmission damage (e.g., worn seals/valves).
Did you replace the seals on the input shaft? You said you looked at the valve body, how about the pump body, where the TCC valve is located?
When i had it apart we noticed everything was new clutches where exactly the same to the new ones we measured as well no difference when i looked at the pump it had new gaskets i never took it apart since it had new gaskets and etc and from what i remember i did replace the input shaft seals and i cleaned that valvebody rlly good it looked new after i was done with it lol
