Escape Knock
2017 for Escape emitting knock noise like a stuck lifter or rocker arm (not sure if it has rocker arms). Just started this morning with a temp. of about 10 degrees. Around 135000 miles. I don't think the plugs have ever been changed. This is not the typical "ticking" that is given on this engine. It is a 1.5 liter or 2.0 liter.
Any Ideas?

Have you checked the engine oil level and condition? When is the last time it was changed? Did you change it or have it done somewhere? Did the noise go away after a few seconds or remain until you shut the engine off? Does the oil filter have an anti-backflow valve?
