Compatible replacement trans for 01 F250 V10 4x4 Auto
Hi! I'm looking for a replacement trans for when my current one goes out. Hopefully someone can help me, I'm wondering what is a direct replacement for my 01 F250 V10 4x4 Auto. Thank you. Here's a photo of one i found nearby, anyone know if it will work? Photo of my current trans that is on the truck right now.

Thanks for the reply. So is there a difference between all of the transmission options? When I look on car-parts.com I see they have different options of 4r100 whether it is a 4x4 or with/without PTO or what motor it came with. Is it all the same transmission?
So would the "F81P-EB" be a correct replacement for my "1C3P-DB"? It is a 4x4 auto that the guy said came out of a 2000, but it looks like the build date is 4/29/1998 or 2008? (BD-29)
as the other members have posted, v10 must have a v10 due to major internal differences , 4x4 must be a v10 4x4, the output shafts are different to allow bolting to the transfer case . in other words you must match your application to your application,
as mark noted you can use a CORE from 2000 to 2004 if it was me i would wait till it, fails than have it rebuilt. your down time should be a few days while a shop preforms the work leaving you with peace of mind knowing what's done inside and you have all new or rebuilt like the torque convertor
buying something used with a unknown history? better safe than sorry ,
i can fully understand your wanting to learn, BUT these newer units are not easy, even for people who do them for a living, there are many a special tool needed,
I have not done a 4R100, but I did my E4OD. It's about as easy as it gets. To do it right, you should replace all the bushings which means you should have a press and tools to install them without damaging them.

The last 4R100 was built in 2004, so the build date on the trans isn't 2008.

The main differences between the E4OD and the 4R100 are two speed sensors and the name. That's about it.

A control unit and a solenoid pack.
To be honest, when I did my E4OD, there are plenty of 4R100 parts to make a bit stronger. So, I really have just a Frankenstein transmission built with all kinds of stuff.
