I recently moved our Excursion that had been sitting at a friend's place for a couple of months with our pop-up attached to it. When I parked at our place, saw a puddle of fluid which I assumed to be from the power steering system somewhere. Checked it out today and confirmed it's coming from the line that threads into the pump, from the treaded part itself. I tried to tighten it with a small crescent wrench (all I had that I cut for in that small area) and it was pretty snug, I got no movement. Any ideas as to what would cause it to leak from the threaded area? I think this end just has a Teflon washer if I recall correctly. I replaced the pump and lines last year while doing a bunch of other work. No known leaking until what I noticed last week, but it's probably only been driven a couple thousand miles, if that since install. I attempted to attach a quick video of the leak.
personally i would replace the line , good chance that lines been on and off enough that the connection has flattened to where it no longer seals
I may do that as if I recall, it's not too expensive (using one from RockAuto, I think this was an Edleman), but I just installed it last year. New pump, lines, rebuilt steering box.
