Check out this link, The guy actually uses playdoh and assembles the motor and checks both 11 and 12 and 12 o'clock has the most clearance by far.
3x the room.
Watch it, you won't be mad.
Hopefully someone else comes across this information.
It's really helps lining up the eleven o'clock and twelve o'clock with thecrankshaft timing gear.
