P0340 code plus P1247 code

Family Emergency had me hop in the Excursion and head for Cleveland, Utah, just south of Price. UT.
during the last 300 miles or so of the trip, a check engine light came on.
the Edge CTS-3 Diagnostics came up with P0340 and P1247
talked to the diesel shop in Price yesterday, and his computer pulled up a code for ICP pump?
the CTS3 says it is a CPS wiring issues, so I ordered a new CPS and connector pigtail from Riff Raff, got it already.....
Appt is for Monday next, what is the considered opinions and Experience for this code guys?
the diesel shop's computer said the truck should be running rough, blowing smoke.
none of that is happening, in fact, it is running Perfect, just like it always has...
in 10*F Wx here, I let the WTS light go out, and counted to 100 and hit the starter, it whirled over about 4 seconds and started right up, no rough idle at all....
let it warm for 10 minutes and slowing started into town to get some things I need.
the coolant tested at +20*F, ouch.... so the Block heater is on, and it must be working, as there is a circle on the hood under the snow. Asked the shop to flush the system and install Caterpillar equivalent ELC....
they are a Kenworth/Mack shop, so should have some of that on hand.

that shop installed the MechMan alternator and Insane Diesel ByPass oil filter for me last year....
I was traveling thru on the way home from Montana, and the volts headed downhill, stopped to get it fixed with them, did a good job

guess this means $caching?
My first concern was the Antifreeze quality, my little $13 float tester showed it was only good to +20*F
Today, was in Price, UT shopping for supplies, and dropped in to ask if they had "time to do any Diagnostics" ?
1) Their Antifreeze tester showed the pink stuff is good to -35*F and in their opinion, it is the same exact color as the ELC stuff they stock and use in all of the diesel trucks they service..... so, I asked them to just top up the plastic tank as it was down a couple inches.
2) the funny Icon by the Tranny Temp gauge ( I did not know what it meant )
is telling us that the Filter Minder has Pegged out, and their inspection showed that to be the case.
3) the manager told me, that the Filter Minder being pegged out like that, will cause the two codes that I observed.... he asked if he could replace the Air Filter ( yes ) and reset the Filter Minder, and tomorrow he will take it for a Test Drive to see how things go.
No upsell to have me buy things, like injectors, and he refused to change out the CPS which I provided to him if "he needs it"... ( that is NOT your problem.... ) I bought it from Riff Raff with the pigtail harness, so it will go in the glove box.
the owner "Landon" whom I spoke to when I dropped it off, and his shop manager "Chris" whom I have a lot of experience dealing with a year ago, impress me with just "taking care of the customer".
I explained to them, that I need to ferry my very ill sister to my home, 1200 miles away, and I do NOT want to have any break downs on the way.
More, when I know more.
Landon is in his 35th year of servicing the Diesel Industry. there is a Kenworth dealership on the same parking lot, I saw a LOT of big rigs on their yard, waiting for service/parts.
some of those rigs, are heading for the scrap yard, after the Insurance company gives the go ahead.
Landon provides a Full time, Never closed, Recovery operation covering all of Utah, and surrounding areas. Nice guy.

it seems anytime you leave a diesel truck in a shop, it takes FOREVER for them to get it fixed.
BUT, to be fair, this shop is dedicated to the Semi truck industry and those folks are not making any money when their rigs are down.
I paid for the bill, $1071 and change....
interesting what they found, none of the codes that I found meant a damn thing, except, they were caused by a plugged up air filter... somehow, oil was in the bottom of the filter box??
I remember looking at the filter last summer and it was okay.... guess not okay enough though,
here is the invoice.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I doubt there was anything wrong with the AIH relay. Didn’t they say it tested good?
It’s not a critical item. Many of us haven’t had the AIH for years.
Anyhow, I’m glad you told them to stop diagnosing that system.
I didn’t remember you saying anything about heater vent not functioning correctly. Seems like the vacuum pump was the fix for that right?
The “vacuum hose” they are describing sounds like the wastegate control hose which isn’t related to the vacuum pump. It goes from the intake spider to the wastegate. Without it connected the PCM loses its ability to electronically blow the gate open to reduce boost. Many of us have disabled that feature on purpose. 😏
