2002 Powerstroke, clicking coming from INSIDE fuse panel?
2002 Excursion 7.3 Been chasing a battery drain and some wiring gremlins. Started pulling fuses and measuring the amp drain today. About halfway through the process, a relay inside the fuse panel started clicking. It doesn't seem to affect how it runs. Starts, idles, has plenty of power, but it just clicks like crazy. It wasn't doing this before I started pulling fuses. I've also noticed the trip computer in the overhead console went out and the switches up there don't work to open or close the rear side windows. Not sure if that's related? It's driving me bonkers and I'm sure its going to make the battery drain worse. It seems to stop after about 30 seconds of shutting it off, but it will do it randomly just sitting there, no key or anything. Any type of blip in electricity does seem to set it off- opening the door and lights turning on for example.
Found these pics in a different thread here but I don't have the same issues as that person was. Second one shows the back of the fuse panel, pointing at the internal relays that are making the noise.

If one of these were acting up they may be your parasitic draw.
Just to be sure, are you confident you have a parasitic draw? I have started chasing those before and it turned out to be a poorly crimped cable end preventing the amperage flow to the starter. Just a thought.

Still runs great. No issues starting, driving, etc.
On a whim pulled up codes on the Edge tuner while waiting in line to pick up kids today. Have a P0672, 674, 676, and 678. Basically, it doesn't sound like any of the drivers side glow plugs are working but that doesn't make sense. Is there a relay that controls just the one side of glow plugs? Could that be related to my clicky issue?
For troubleshooting please be sure to eliminate the Edge as part of the problem by running for a while without it. It's such an easy step.
Grab forscan and check all your modules for trouble codes.
Good luck!
While playing with some things today, I noticed that the clicking will STOP, but only if I hold the horn down. The horn must not be connected, because the horn does not work. If everything is off, after the clicking has stopped, I can push on the horn and it will click and release normally. Turn the key, trigger the door light, anything else, and the clicking goes wild.
Probably unrelated, but curious- I have the intermittent power windows and radio glitch where they just stop working, also seems to affect the cruise, and possibly the A/C but I think that may be a separate issue.
