2001 F-250 crew cab with power locks very weak. Driver door works maybe 3 times but gets too weak to work. The other three have power and I can hear them trying but can't do it. Is there anything I can do/check before doing or paying for all of my actuators to be replaced. My uncle (previous owner) swears that it's the (factory) security system wiring messing up and is a bad ground wire. I'm not sure that it has a security system. I already have a good mechanic that specializes in this generation that could do it.
Can someone point me in a direction before getting this fixed or a WIRING DIAGRAM to check for ground?
If you don't have kids or pets that will rest their grubby fingers or muddy paws on the buttons for more than 5 seconds at a time, it's easy to disassemble the actuators and solder over the thermal resistors for the motors. The resistor is what takes a dump over time, not the motor. The locks work so quickly afterward that you'll wonder how you lived without doing this earlier.
The worst part is actually removing the latch mechanism from the door.
If the possibility exists that something/someone may hold the buttons down (dogs are really good at standing on the buttons), don't do this "mod" as the motors get really hot!

Grubby kids are the actual conduit here... I have several grubby kids at 56 and trust me not, they are the culprits!
