I am installing a new Curt Triflex brake controller in my 2001 F350 Lariat and I am not getting any power over the power wire coming out of the plug for the brake controller. It worked yesterday and had power when I was taking out the old brake controller, so I must have did something to the wiring or a fuse. I checked fuse 28 under the hood which my info says is for the "Trailer Tow Electronic Brake Controller", and it isn't burned up and tests good for continuity.
What am I possible missing? Picture show the plug under the dash and the wire colors. The battery 12v feed is a green wire and not black like I would have expected, but it had power on it yesterday.
Any thoughts? Plug from under the dash going to brake controller 4 wires that connect to the brake controller, Note the green 12v wire
Green from the pickup harness is brake signal (12v with pedal depressed) that connects to red brake controller wire.
Red in pickup harness is supposed to be fused 12V constant (connects to black brake controller wire).
The little green wire ain't big enough to feed trailer brakes.
I think I have them wired right now if you can tell from the photo. But no display, only 1 dot on the led when brake is pushed. I went back to the original controller to level set. Lights all work fine, but I can't set the braking level or see anything on the controller led. See anything amiss?
Do you have a load (trailer brakes or incandescent bulb test light) on the circuit? Without a load, the display won't do much. Some flash "OC" for open circuit, others show a decimal only.
