I have a 2022 F-350 with 7k miles on it and it's 10 months old. The center console screen has gone black so none of the functionality on that cluster works including the connected services. The bad part is that every dealership in a 20-mile radius is booked out 3 months for service. Clearly, quality isn't job one at Ford. While this is covered under warranty, it does make me nervous about "what else?".
My question to the forum: Has anyone else seen this issue with the 2022's and how long did it take the dealership to fix the problem?

I'd drop it off and tell them you need a loaner until it is fixed!
I'd drop it off and tell them you need a loaner until it is fixed!
And they'd tell ya, "Sorry, no loaners available....especially for a screen issue."
These dealers are really making it difficult to obtain service...kinda like denying you warranty service (by delaying you to oblivion) without outright denying you service
The screen in my 19 did that once but never replicated it after turning the radio off and on.
Sorry you're in the spot you're in.
You can wait it out, but if it were me, I'd pay an independent mechanic to find a junk yard unit and swap it out.
Then I'd probably sell it and not buy another new Ford indefinitely.
We will look back on the trucks and cars made during this era as being "covid cars" or "shortage cars", sort of like a 1943 copper shortage steel penny, except they won't be collectable.. I watched an old late 70's rerun of The Price Is Right the other day and every car they rolled out I said "Yeah, that car didn't get anywhere close to 100k before it was made into beer cans." Such is the case with us..except beer cans dont use aluminum..
Assuming your selling dealer is one of the close ones, I would contact my salesperson about getting it in to be looked at. I was able to get mine to diagnose an issue when I stopped in, then order the parts. When the parts came in I dropped it off and picked it up 3 days later.
MR176 - good suggestion. Hadn't really thought of that as I was focused on getting it fixed and it's difficult to find time during the day. I have a drop-off appointment, but I'm sure the part is going to take months since it's probably a new head unit. The dealer is very customer service oriented, so they may be willing to accommodate that request. I'll make this happen.
Check fuses 15 and 32 in the kick panel fuse box. One is for the sync screen and one for the radio. I am taking this info out of a 2020 manual, so maybe see if it is the same fuses in your 2022. Just a long shot, but worth a look.
This sounds like a faulty APIM module and it is a common enough problem to where it should be easy for a dealer to diagnose. The dealer obtains a replacement module and programs it to your VIN.
The issue I had with my 2022 12" screen ended up being loose connectors.
Ford's instruction to my dealer was reflash it and send it out. Luckily, the service manager is an acquaintance, he had the tech pull it apart and unplug and replug all the related connections to the display. It's been more than a year and no problem since.
I'm thinking it's something similar. Going to pull the fuses today and see if that makes a difference. I have done a complete reset a couple of times and that doesn't work for long.
I've done about everything suggested except sell the truck. Selling the truck isn't an option, quoting the wife. Called Ford and registered a complaint. I'm supposed to get a call from someone at Ford. We'll see if that happens.
In the mean time, have an appointment at my dealer and the truck is drivable. Just have to do old school towing and parking. Builds skills.
