Have typically held Gates in high regard and still think their green belts are of high quality, however I’m finishing up a project I did part of quite a while ago with the tensioner, belt and idler pulleys. Due to shipping / time / life I was only able to change tensioner and belt quite a while ago on my 2016 and used all Gates products, green fleet runner belt and drive align tensioner. Also ordered the idler pulleys, but they didn’t show up in time, anyway, today I decided to tackle the pulleys and opened the box and first thing I noticed was it said China on the pulley and bearings didn’t have any noticeable brand markings. Motorcraft ones I took off were NSK bearings. Kind of disappointed, but will run them and see what happens, will order factory for my other truck which I will do soon.

Ford sources many parts from China these days. The aluminum duallie wheels on my 2015 had China stamped on them.
The USA has priced itself out of many markets due to corporate tax rates sending business overseas along with higher than average hourly wage creap over the last few years. Most replacement parts now have Mexico or an Asian country stamped on them as source o parts but the box/packaging may say packaged/printed in the USA.
82k and some change, been racking up quite a few again since I use it for my job again, I guess there's some things I'd just prefer not to be made in China, but it seems as though most of em are now days.

I'm right at about 80k. Were you having issues or just preventative maintenance?
And I hear you on the "made in China."

my tensioner was bad, so I changed it and the belt earlier this year. While I was there I knew it would be best practice to change idler pulleys as well, they just didn’t show up til later
Don’t forget that there are also now a lot of “good” Japanese things made in Coronavirus land also. It sux, bit is what it is.
agreed completely, I didn’t have too big of a problem using the parts, just a bit disappointed is all. If it lasts over 60k miles then it did better than the factory one.
