2018 2.0 issues
Wife has a 2018 escape with right at 64k on it. Had a misfire code so I put new coils and plugs on it due to the mileage and just to make sure they were all good. Also around the same time i noticed the coolant bottle was low, so i topped it off. The code came back, and i noticed that the coolant was low again. Ive read about these having coolant loss issues in the heads, and that also causing a misfire code. I know there is a TSB for the work, but that the warranty is only to 60k miles. Does anyone know if ford will touch it under a "goodwill" warranty for that TSB or are we looking at out of pocket expenses? Thanks for your time.

I have a couple of TSB's on my Explorer. The service department told me that those TSB's were an extension of warranty. Call the dealership and ask them about the TSB. Check to see if the reservoir is pressurized while running. That is an indication of compression leaking into the cooling system. Check the oil dipstick and the fill cap. See if the oil looks milky and/or overfilled. That's an indication of coolant leaking into the oil. Check the exhaust. Blue smoke is oil burning, whitish smoke with a sweet smell is coolant leak into the exhaust.
