Sorry I am a few days behind making a new chat thread.
Work has been nuts the last 2 weeks but we are finally starting to catch up a little bit. I have been putting together new equipment so the guys can focus on repairing stuff. Almost everything has been inspected and the repair parts have been ordered. Two were quick fixes so that eased the work load some. I put the new halogen headlight bulbs in at lunch, guess we will see tomorrow morning if they work any better.
I knew you'd be along soon. Can't complain about a man out making money. We know you pay $ for those headlights lol. I'm still trying to decide to how much I'm willing to spend on running boards for my truck. I spent about $100 at O'Rieleys yesterday. I just went thru their sales paper and found things on sale I use often. I have my next oil change bought and a few other things. Saved a little over $20.
I worked on my battery connectors yesterday, on my 2012 f150. Whom ever installed that new battery didn't clean the terminals or even grease the terminal posts. The positive wasn't bad but the negative looked like a snow storm hit it. These terminals are not what I'm used to and probably cost more than I'm used to spending on terminals lol. But I finally got them clean and got them both fixed up with all the corrosion prevention spray and dielectric grease I bought on sale. Now I'm waiting on a sale for tires, and more fluids for my truck. I can wait a good while on tires as these aren't worn bad. I'd just rather had All Terrains over Mudders.
It fall you are always busy this time of year. We had an interesting week. We decided not to go to TX for various reasons. We are still moving out of this house and out of Upson county but not till July when my civil service retirement goes from disability to regular. Wednesday we were looking at land. Thursday I closed on selling the land in Monticello. I know sounds strange. That land was mine and ex wife's . What Debra and I both want is something with no memories attached to it.
I finished putting the center console back together last night after work so the Envoy is back in business. The first weekend in October is the 100 mile yard sale and it's this weekend. Our daughter lives right on the highway so we cleaned some stuff out of the basement to take to her house. Starting winter hours at the shop this weekend so I only have to work till noon. Sway bar links came in for the Benz yesterday, waiting on the upper and lower control arms to come in before I replace them. They are scheduled to arrive on Monday. The new bulbs in the Benz made a world of difference in visibility.
What Debra and I want is something with no memories attached to it.
I can understand that.
We are behind on online classes, got to knock a few of those out quickly. We were good till we fired one and the other quit. Now playing the catch up game and keep Corp off our backs..

Keep an eye on the auctions. If you have the cash you can score some real deals on land right now. Even if you decide to flip it and triple your money, you can do so in 2 to 3 years or less. Especially small water frontage lots. Just wait until the high rollers get through running up the bids before you start placing your bid thou.

I'm glad to here you getting those lights brighter on the Benz. Nothing I hate worse than driving too slow because I can't see 20 ft in front of me. So the Envoy was down as well. Sounds like you spend more time in the shop than in the sack with the wifey these days lol. Oh well, it happens to all us homesteaders. It takes work to provide a home, transportation, and food on the table. My son is learning that right now with 2 babies and him spending all his money on them instead of guns, cars and racing.
I didn't realize the Longest yard sale was going on this week. I may get out there and see if I can find a deal or 3. I have to go to Walmart any ways. I want to buy some brighter backup bulbs for my truck.
What an exciting day, worked till noon and then headed home. Decided to load up the old carpet from the bedroom and put it in the dumpster at work. All was well on the way back home till an old lady pulled out in front of me coming out of a yard sale. I was driving the jacked up Dodge and all I could do was slam on the brakes and hold on. I hit her in the drivers rear behind the tire, clipped a pole on the right hand side and just about flipped into a ditch. It snapped the tie rod end on the drivers side so after I hit her I was just along for the ride. The front axle mount on the drivers side is mangled and the axle is pushed back about 4 or 5 inches. I have pics and I will upload when they finish up loading. I would say there is a 99 percent chance they will total it out.

Yea I'm fine. shook me up for a few minutes but I'm OK. A little mad the truck is probibly going to be totalled. The cop says I'm lucky that I didn't flip. The pictures don't show how much of an angle the ditch really has. If I'm standing on the bottom of the ditch the highway is above my head. I know it's not a Ford but it was nice to haul the trash to the dump. Now it will make me get off my butt and get the 79 running again. Right rear not even touching the ground.

. I'm glad your okay. Time to get you a truck with a Coyote or twin turbo V6. All 3 are good engines. With good gas mileage according to what kind of running gear you have. I keep an eye on Carguru. If I see something really good I'll share it.
I don't need another vehicle, we have 5 now. They are probably going to total out the Dodge so we will be down to 4. The wife and I talked it over and decided to get my late father in-laws 1979 F100 running again. If they total it out. we will just roll that money over into the F100. I just ordered a new fuel pump. Going to have to drop the fuel tank and clean it out. Also need to get a battery. More than likely the carb is going to be bad too but it's less than 100 bucks.
Pulled the battery out of the tractor and put in the 79, I finally got it to turn over but the starter solenoid is smoking. A little bit of gas in the carb and it runs for a few seconds. 80 lbs of oil pressure so the engine is not hurt. Makes me feel better knowing I can ge it going again, it needs a lot of work to be reliable.
